Such a nuanced renewing, sober, loving wondrous and strong expression. “With fear, faith and love draw near” the man whose divinity is barely hidden behind the human gaze that comes from beyond the world, yet one with it.
I viewed some of fr Stamatis’ ouvre this morning. His range and creative expression are humbling in the many directions they invite the viewer across the created toward the sanctified through the rendering of forms that escape both sentimentality or naturalism without transformation.
It seems he has opened a door to a new genre.
